1/2 Day Surfing Lesson Newquay
Newquay is a popular surf beach and a great place to learn to surf.
While methods vary a little from surf coach to surf coach, in your first lesson the surf instructor will go over the basics - these include:
* Ocean safety
* How to spot a rip
* How to wipeout
* Tides
* Lifeguard flags
Then it's time for a bit of dry land surf coaching:
You will have time to practice lying on the board in the "prone" position,
* How to paddle out,
* How to paddle for a broken wave,
* How to stand up (the tricky bit) and how to stay on!
Then its time to hit the water.
The surf coach will be on hand to give you advice as you progress.
Before long you could be up and riding the whitewater waves back to the beach.
Restrictions:
* We suggest you can swim at least 50m in a pool. While you are learning to surf, you do remain waist deep at all times, but the 50m rule is really the only prerequisite to the start of your surfing career
* Anyone can learn to surf, young (as young as 8), old (as old as 69), male, female, short, tall, fat, slim, it really doesn't matter. What matters is the will, and love to give it a go, and who knows it might not be long before you are shooting the barrel at some remote Indonesian island!
* Need to complete a medical questionnaire and agree to surf school’s terms and conditions which will be provided on the day
* Parent/Guardian to be present on the beach if not participating in the lesson
What to Bring:
Towel
Sun Cream
Swimwear
Timings:
